Quick Note

For the time being, please see my Flickr site for photos (link below right) since I lack both the time and the skills to figure out how to quickly post pics to my blog following these Japanese directions. Gomen nasai!

Bonson-san!

Enjoy yourselves, and try not to rainman your two weeks away in front of DDR, slap button style. (I think the movie was Lost in Translation, by the way.) Open your eyes little bro! You're, like, a kabillion miles from home! Soak up the culture of a land almost a whole world away from your own. Immerse. Succumb. Saturate yourself in your surroundings.

I'll probably still be chameleon green with envy when you get back.

PS: Please draw me what you see! Even if it is the blurred frenzy of Japanese otaku beating the crap out of a coin-op console...use the cards, Luke......

Joe!!

Nice to hear from you and don't worry. We're "soaking up" our environment quite literally as it has been pouring all day today. Vermonters that we are, a little rain isn't keeping us indoors. :)

Yes! I will most definitely get you some drawings. I'm trying to get my friend to hand out your cards to her high school class. No promises, but I think it can be done. And watch your mailbox. My search for postcards finally came to an end in the theme park so appropriately named Okinawa World.

Mega, Ultra Cool on the cards (but a private yikes! I hope you volunteer to help translate any and all Japanese on them. All I have is four years of latin, two of german, a lifetime of Quebecois CBC viewing, two or three words of Klingon and a couple of select curse words in several of the more popular romance languages.) Aint none o' that gonna help me read them cards in Japanese...lol...

Hahaha, well I think she's going to emphasize DRAWING for the cards, but I'm sure you'll get a stray kanji here and there. I'll do my best (read: I'll bring you my dictionary).
